We aim the presentation at 8 -10 yr olds, we are therefore looking at presenting in junior schools. It's best if the school and church are within easy walking distance and if the church has additional room we can use.

News

The Organ days held last term were at Longford Junior School and All Saints Matlock Junior School.

We are grateful to David Wells and Ron Sherwood respectively for helping arrange these. Both events went well. The pupils were responsive and very enthusiastic about the activities.. Not surprisingly they loved 'having a go' on a real organ.

The Longford children sent some delightful letters of appreciation including the following quotes:

“…as well as enjoying myself I learned a lot, l didn't know you played some notes with your feet ! “

“...everyone enjoyed it but I enjoyed it the most”

“…designing our own organ was fun”

“…playing the organ was terrific”

“…I had no idea organs were so hard to play”

“…I thought the mini organ you brought for us to see was astonishing”

“…I was amazed at how much I learnt on Monday”

Our DDOA team included Ed Stow, Ron Sherwood, David Wells, Laurence Rogers, Terry Bennett, James Muckle and Anne and Stephen Johns.

We are looking forward to arranging future organ days with other Derbyshire schools.
