Sept: 18th Century English Organ Music

Rodney Tomkins and Stephen Johns at the console the Holt organ in St. Peter’s Belper
In September we met at St. Peter’s Belper for a presentation of 18th century organ music, given by Rodney Tomkins (Organ) and Stephen Johns (Narrator).
St Peter’s was built in 1824 and is contemporary with the later music played.
The “Holt” organ was built in 1853 and has a sound that is appropriate to this music.

A Family Affair
Our Chairman, Peter Williams, enlisted the help of his family to give us a concert in St. James', Riddings.

Nov: AGM and Presentation

In November we held our Annual General Meeting.
This included a presentation to Siann Hurt who retired after serving 17 years on the committee, the last 8 years as secretary.
Following this, Laurence Rogers gave a presentation of videos and pictures featuring organs in Leipzig, Hallé and Naumburg.
