Members met at St. John’s Heritage Centre, Belper for an evening of CDs and DVDs.
Featured organs were from France, Germany, Spain, Poland, Sweden, Netherlands, USA and Britain.
Also included was a DVD of a three manual harpsichord and a CD of two Christie Theatre Organs.
The evening was presented by Peter Williams.

An evening of audio tracks and pictures illustrating Danish organ music and organs
was presented by David Butterworth at St. Werburgh’s, Spondon. The talk featured
organs in Roskilde Cathedral, Frederiksburg Castle and organs built by Marcussen,
Carsten Lund, Bruno Christensen and Poul-

Our visit to St. John’s was to see the newly rebuilt ‘Father’ Willis organ.(1875)
Edmund Stow (organ builder) gave a talk on the organ, its history and the processes involved in the rebuild.
Andrew Storer then gave a short recital of preludes demonstrating the tonal qualities of the organ. Member then had the opportunity to try it out for themselves.
